Unlike our neighbors to the north, women in this state will have access to Plan B, the emergency contraception pill.
The Oregon Pharmacy Board has adopted a position statement which forbids pharmacists from lecturing women on moral or religious beliefs and/or confiscating/tampering/destroying a patient's prescription.
Its bizarre to me that the Board has to set this sort of policy. This is basic common sense.
As Thom Hartmann noted on his radio program this morning--don't enter a profession where there might be a requirement to do something that doesn't line up with your moral beliefs. If you don't believe in birth control--don't become a pharmacist.
These oppressive, fascist-style tactics of rightwing conservatives are tyrannically whacko. I'm grateful that in at least some quarters of Oregon--people see right through it.
