VOE snarkers: get yourself a voter owned calculator
Is anyone else finding the snark about Clean Elections/VOE just a wee bit tedious?
Yeah, I get the whiney toddleresque feet stomping about tax dollars going toward campaigns--and pretending its sucking money away from schools, roads, police, fire, etc.
Uh-huh.
The deep pockets of lobbyists and others who wield political influence via campaign cash are costing taxpayers a heck of a lot more money than the relative pittance of VOE.
Or does PGE not ring any bells?
PGE=$1 billion in overcharging due(in large part) to lack of proper oversight.
VOE=$700K-$1.7 million.
Maybe the VOE snarkers are using that newfangled Bush math. That same math where tax cuts for the top 20% means that the rest of us have to take up the slack and can't afford to save money. Or that 100,000 US troops could could invade and keep stable a nation of 26 million people who don't want them there.
Tedious.
