Joan Draper: "I have no idea where it came from"

TJ noted earlier that Kevin Cameron didn't know about the Hoffman Group survey before "maybe he did and maybe he didn't".



I've got the same survey here that's associated with House District 34. Its got the same two questions but instead of Cameron's name, it uses GOP candidate Joan Draper.

Draper is heavily vested with Gateway Communications, having paid them $19,500+ in just the last reporting period. About $5100 is line itemed as "mail handling", which I would imagine is the direct campaign mailers that go out to district constitutents.

So did any of the other funds to Gateway go to this Hoffman Group not-so-anonymous survey?

I just got off the phone with Draper ("Now who are you again? What's the name of your blog?") and she says that she has no idea about these surveys. She did say that she's heard of them, but she didn't direct these surveys to go out on her behalf and didn't pay for them.

So did Hoffman just decide to pay for them out of the goodness of their corporate heart? If not, who did?
