Gordon Smith: The next to go?

Speculation is running amok with locals and non-locals alike about the red island in a sea of blue that is Gordon Smith.



Besides Kitzhaber and maybe Blumenauer, I can't decide who might present a strong challenge to Smith. With the help of the Oregonian, he's been able to cast himself as a moderate (although we at LO are doing our best to demonstrate otherwise).

I've heard scuttle that Kitz doesn't want the job. He likes living in Oregon and doesn't want to move to DC.

Smith also has an impressive campaign warchest. Challengers will have to contend with his $2 million plus warchest.
