Medford approves WalMart site

A controversial WalMart proposal has completed initial approval in Medford:

WalMart gains approval again:

Medford’s Site Plan and Architectural Commission has given approval, once again, to a controversial proposal to build a Wal-Mart Supercenter in Medford.

Opponents are vowing a new appeal to the Medford City Council.

The 205,693-square-foot store is slated to be built on a 19.5-acre site between Center Drive and Highway 99, at the site of the old Miles Field.

The commission approved the project at a meeting this afternoon, determining that Wal-Mart can proceed without a comprehensive study detailing the new store’s effect on traffic.

Of course. Everyone knows a WalMart has practically no impact on traffic.

I can hear the jobs in Medford being flushed down the toilet as I pixel.
