Feds hire Oregon PR firm to talk Americans into ANWR drilling

Your tax dollars at work:

Without debate, a legislative conference committee on Monday left $3.7 million in a spending bill for lobbying to open the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil drilling.

The appropriation includes $3 million for an Oregon public relations company called Pac/West Communications for marketing campaigns in individual congressional districts to put pressure on lawmakers who are against drilling in the refuge.

Pac West Communications has a some folks who've worked to manipulate enviornmental research and PR before. Specifically Tim Wigley who appears to have worked double time to submarine the Endangered Species Act. Wigley's Save Our Species Alliance (SOSA) is the front group leading the charge to gut ESA.

Wigley has also been a busy boy on the (un)Healthy Forest Initiative front. He even scored an award for his hard work to ensure Oregon's forests are pillaged and mutilated.

What a piece of work.

Wigley isn't above greasing palms and doing the slimy PR politico thing...as rroperty rights movement person discovered.
