According to the Milken Institute, who bills itself as a "nonprofit, independent economic think tank", our little Oregon burg of Bend is second best performing small city job growth and wage growth.

TJ noted last week that Bend is creating its own media market, building something fairly powerful for that region. Bend even has its own alternative progressive newspaper, though it doesn't have quite the oomph of Portland's own Willamette Week.

Now if you could just start moving a little more to the blue, please.
