Saxton opposes spending limit measure

Republican canidate for governor Ron Saxton, defying some of his staunchest supporters, said Friday he opposes a proposed state spending limit that voters will decide in November.

After dodging questions on the issue for weeks, Saxton released a statement saying he “will not be supporting” the ballot measure.

“The best spending limit is a governor who himself acts as a spending limit,” Saxton said. “That is a responsibility I embrace.”
