Dorcester Conference..get your racism on?

Hmmm....

Ask OrBlogs:

During the tent show there was skit about the detainees at Guantanamo Bay, or GitMo. The speaker asked questions about people looking to Git Mo', or get more, one of which was "driver's licenses to Hispanics." I specifically remember the term, Hispanic and not illegal immigrants. Does this advocate that legal or not, Hispanics do not deserve licenses? And on the issue of terrorism and loose borders, I wonder how much illegal immigration has the cost the US in terms of services against the cost to the United States economy from the attacks of 9/11, which were perpetrated by some 20 people who came here legally and had valid driver’s licenses. Even recently, we continue to find instances where naturalized citizens have plotted to commit terrorist acts against the US. Even the year 2000 bomb plot against Los Angeles airport used the Canadian border. I understand that illegal immigration from Mexico is a crutch to our economy and that many commit crimes, however we should focus on the more critical aspects of immigration in a post 9/11 world. Sorry about the rant.

Don't apologize. You should be ranting about this.

The Republican Party's tolerance for nonwhites and nonChristians in general (and for some, Catholics are included in the nonChristian category--believe it or not) is a mile wide and an inch deep. If they thought that it wouldn't hurt their electoral chances, they'd throw all of those groups under the bus in a heartbeat, from my observation.
