Rainy Day Fund--Corporate Kicker to hit Senate Floor tomorrow
Just got off the phone with a contact down at the Oregon Senate. It seems that the work session has been completed on HB 2707--the Rainy Day Fund/Corporate Kicker suspension bill. As I understand it, the bill is set to hit the Senate Floor tomorrow for its debate and vote.
Barring any more unfortunate antics from the GOP Senate hostage takers, the bill will at least get a vote.
Should the bill not pass or if the GOP continue to screw around, Senate Joint Resolution 3 kicks in--which would refer a complete repeal of the Corporate Kicker to the voters.
A referral to the ballot would easily spell doom for the kicker...not to mention piss off the electorate even more at the Oregon Republicans.
